Long Time, No Post!
Wow, it has been a while since the last post. A lot has happened. We lost my Dad on Aug. 20. He decided that it was time to go home. He is being missed here but we all know that he is in a better place and is happy watching over all of us here. Ryan and I also celebrated our 12Th anniversary. Wow, 12 years, and we love each other more every day! Then school started, Tyler in 6Th grade and Breyanna in 3rd. I am still getting used to getting one on the bus at 7:15 and then the other one at 8:00! Breyanna is also in cheer leading this fall! So we are going to the rocket football games to watch her cheer them one. I am almost excited to say that she is really good at it! I will post pics soon! Tyler has been busy with Boy Scouts. He is camping right now up at Mackinac Island. I hope that he brings home fudge! So that has been the Gebben's life in a nut shell! Hope all of you are doing well and I hope to not go so long between posts again!

What a way to spend a Monday!

Yesterday morning about 8:15 Tyler came into my room and said "Mom my side hurts." I started to run down all the usual questions that come along with that statement, when did it start? Do you have to use the bathroom? You know, all the common Mom questions. Then came the big one, which side is it on? "The right side" he says. He went back down stairs and sat in the chair and I sat there (still in bed) thinking "this is not how I wanted to spend my Monday!" So I follow him downstairs and start poking and prodding. Well, it only took me two pokes to figure out that he wasn't joking. So I called Ryan and said, "I am headed to the emergency room with Tyler and some pretty good right side pain." He says "Okay let me know what is going on." So everyone quickly got dressed and piled into the car. Well, Long story short, the emergency room became our home from 9:30 a.m. till about 5:15 p.m.. Then the surgical floor was our next stop till about 9:30 p.m. and then our finial resting place was the 3rd floor of Holland Hospital till about 2:30 this afternoon. He left there pretty sore and one appendix short but at least he got to spend the whole day with his Mom watching all the crazy people come in and out of the emergency room on the full moon Monday!

Breyanna Turns 8!
On Thursday the 25th Breyanna turned 8! She had a very busy day with a Brownie outing, dance and we got to watch Tyler play his last ball game. She got to end the day with an ice cream cake from Coldstone and she finally got to open her present from Mom, Dad and Tyler. Her very own pink Ipod. She was excited. Then yesterday we got to have a big party with Grandma's, Grandpa's, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. It was a great party. Everyone had lots of fun. Overall I think that her eighth birthday was great!

Summer's here!
Summer has officially arrived for the Gebben Family. How do you know? The beach. Two days in a row we went to the beach. I think that I could live on the beach and I think that Tyler could too! There is nothing better than sitting in the sand with a book or a shovel and the sun for a whole afternoon. The tans have a good start over here for the Gebben Family and we hope that yours do too!

Fishing!

Tyler got a new fishing pole last weekend and has been bugging Ryan all week to go fishing so he could try it out. Well, he finally got to go today. Off the went to Grandpa and Grandma Gebben's house to fish in the pond. As you can see from the pictures he caught a big one! So, now he has caught his first fish of the season and his pole works really good. Hopefully that fish isn't the last one of the season!

The baseball won!
Yesterday, Breyanna was playing catch with her Dad and her brother when she got into a fight with the baseball. I think that the baseball won. She busted open both lips and Ryan thought that she lost a tooth, till I reminded him that she was already missing that tooth! She feels a little better today, she stopped drooling at least. She even played at her ball game tonight! Overall, I think that she will remember to put the glove in front of her face next time!

Dancing Queen!
Our diva princess dancing queen had her dance recital yesterday. She was awesome! Not at all scared to be on stage and she remembered most of her moves. She is not really a graceful ballerina but she is definitely the hip hop queen. Thanks to everyone that made it to the show and for those that didn't we have a dvd on the way! I am sure that she will be glad to show you all her moment in the spotlight!

Big Weekend!
On Weds. night Ryan and Tyler's big wait was over. With the rental car all loaded down with their camping gear they left Hamilton and headed out to Talladaga Al.! Tyler is so excited (so is Ryan) when they called yesterday I could hear him in the background saying I can see the track! They have a full day ahead of them today, tomorrow and Sunday! So if in the next few days you are flipping through the channels and find a Nascar race turn it on, maybe you will see my boys!

Spring Break Fun!
Since Breyanna and I had so much fun seeing the butterflies on her field trip we decided to take Tyler to see them. Since my sister Amber was in town with Hunter and Corbin we decided to make it a play date! The kids loved it. The boys were amazed by the butterflies (and I am not just talking about Hunter and Corbin)! Breyanna tried to have butterflies land on her, but again walked away with nothing! Corbin walked around with his hand out hoping they would just land on it! So cute! Overall I think that everyone had a good time. Maybe next year we will do it again!

Field trip fun!
On Thursday I got to go on a field trip with Breyanna's 2nd grade class. We went to Fredrick Meijer Gardens to see the butterflies and see the sculptures outside. The butterflies were flying everywhere and it was a beautiful morning to be outside. The kids loved it. One of Breyanna's friends had a butterfly land on her! Breyanna was not so lucky but maybe when we go back on Tuesday with my sisters and their boys she will be luckier!

Weekend Away!
This weekend I got to go on a road trip. Up to see my sister, Amber, in Buckley! My other sister, Candace, came up too and we had a girls weekend with no hubbys and no kids! We went out for dinner and shopping, I found a new coat for $10! Then we went scrapbooking, I spent to much money there! That was just on Friday! Then on Saturday we just hung out and finished up some scrapbooking. I am all caught up now and I think that my sisters are too! Thanks girls for a great weekend and I hope that we can do it again every year, maybe like 4 times a year!!!

What does the other guy look like?
Today Tyler decided that he wanted to build a fort. So out in the woods he went with all the stuff that he thought that he would need. A post hole digger, the ladder, nails, hammer and some old fence railing that he has used many times before. So he starts out by digging a hole. Some where in that process the post hole digger got the best of him. Not really sure how, but the first thing I asked was "What does the other guy look like?" These pictures don't really show how swollen his nose is or how black and blue he is going to be! The best part is that I didn't even know that he did it till he came back in the house a 1/2 hour later! Oh, and that fort is on hold for a little bit, he is still working out a few things!

New Moves
Breyanna has been busy at dance learning some new moves. Some are a little odd, like what they call the "freeze". That is the one where she looks like she in a lot of pain with her feet in the air. Then they are doing the good old fashion "tripod". They are also doing the "coffee grind", which I have seen done by other people a million times and always wondered how they did it. Well, Breyanna taught me and now I can do it too! I can't wait for her dance recital to see it all come together and I hope that I don't hurt myself trying to do the "coffee grind"!

Boy Scout!
Tonight Tyler got to cross over into Boy Scout land. He went from being a Cub Scout to a Boy Scout! He even walked across a bridge. I hope that he is ready, he has his first meeting on Tuesday and can go camping with them already this coming weekend! They are busy Boy Scouts! It is going to be a lot of work but I think that he is ready! Congrats Tyler!

Daddy/Daughter Dance
Tonight Ryan and Breyanna headed out for their date. The Daddy/Daughter Dance. In her new dress, new shoes and hair all done up (good job Aunt Amber!) she was good to go. She even asked Ryan not to wear his p.j.s! I know that she is going to have lots of fun showing off all those new hip/hop moves and doing the sprinkler dance!

Sick
The title says it all. Both kids have been sick. Breyanna is going on being sick for a week now and Tyler had it for 5 days. Running a fever and now getting a cold to go with it. The thermometer has been Breyanna best friend for the last 6 days. They say that it is going around school and it is a form of the flu. Doesn't that sound like fun? They also say that it should be gone in 10 days! Don't tell Breyanna that! She is so ready to go back to school and Mom is so ready to go back to work!

Ouch!!
When people go skiing the sometimes try to do things that they normally wouldn't do. Well, that was Breyanna today. She decided that she was going to ski off a ramp. Well, it looked pretty cool until she landed on her face. Yes, I said face! As you can see from the picture her cute little face has a pretty good mark on it! But she got right back up and went back down the hill. Not even a little spill will keep her down!

Almost a Boy Scout!
As most of you know, Tyler joined the Cub Scouts this fall. What Ryan and I didn't know was that by February he would be a Boy Scout. He put in lots of hard work (and so did Dad) got all of his work done and last night at the pack meeting Tyler got his Webelos Badge. When they presented him with his badge and all his pins that he earned they also painted his face. It was really funny to watch him try not to pull faces like a little kid and stand there like a young man! It was really neat to see. Next month they will have a cross over, that is when the boys that are boy scouts already come in and help them cross over to the next level. Then we will get to start the work all over again. I am very proud that he stuck with all the hard work and got this far! Way to go Tyler!

Tyler Turns 11
On Monday, Tyler turned 11. I know you are all thinking, 11 already. Yes, 11 already. He had a big party on Sunday with as many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandparents, and Great Grandparent that could make it. Mom made her best Carl Edwards cake ever. Then on Monday we got to go to the Wild Chef. Lots of fun. Overall, I think that his 11Th birthday was great. He got everything he wanted and even wrote thank you notes without fighting with Mom first!
